FAQ – Other Common Questions
I am an events company looking for a graphic recorder for my client. Can you give me a quote?
Most happy to. Contact us at hello@picturepeopleplan.com with your event details (date, time, agenda) for us to provide a quote.
What sort of industries can you work with?
We can work with virtually any industry. However, if you are looking for verbatim capture, “reproducing” of the presentation slides, or if the discussion would be packed with technicalities and numbers that need to be accurately and completely captured… graphic recording would not be the best fit for your meeting. We speak faster than we write, and we write faster than we draw. In this regard, graphic recording is best used when you need someone neutral to process and and make sense of the “big picture” of the conversation for the group.
Can you come and record at school events?
We can. Please contact us at hello@picturepeopleplan.com to explore.
Do you take interns?
We are not currently seeking interns. However, you can send us your resume at hello@picturepeopleplan.com (subject: Internship) — we will get in touch if there’s a fit! 🙂
Can I engage you for more than one day?
Yes of course. Tell us more at hello@picturepeopleplan.com so that we can quote you a better-value multi-session or multi-day rate.
Do you run workshops?
Yes we do. Check out our “Workshop” page for more details, or email us at hello@picturepeopleplan.com to explore bespoke workshops for your team.
Are you a certified graphic recorder?
I was trained by Brenda Tan (Trailblazer Associates International) and Christy O’Loughlin, both among pioneer graphic recorders in Singapore. Formerly, I was a Board Member of the International Forum of Visual Practitioners (IFVP).
Currently, there is no universally established certification or standards for graphic recording. However, you may come across organisations and individual practitioners developing or offering graphic recording training (based on their specific methodology), awarding their own certificates.
Picture People Plan is in the process of developing structured certification curricula for individual practitioners, as well as businesses who want to incorporate visual practice into how they work. Kailin brings with her unique experience as a published graphic recorder with experience in visual practice, process facilitation, and pedagogy. Contact us at hello@picturepeopleplan.com if you are interested to explore this personally or for your organisation.
Are there graphic recording courses in Singapore where one can get certified?
Currently, there is no universally established certification or standards for graphic recording. However, you may have come across organisations and individual practitioners developing or offering graphic recording training (based on their specific methodology), both online and face-to-face, awarding their own certificates. Examples of these training include: Shift-It Coach, Bikablo, IFVP’s GR101 etc.

Do you work alone or in a team?
For single-session projects, one graphic recorder is all you need! If there are concurrent sessions to graphic record, or if the visualisation needs are more complex (example: mega-sized charts or high degree of visual detailing needed), we can call in a team. Share with us your event agenda at hello@picturepeopleplan.com, and we can propose what works best for your meeting.
Do you take overseas projects?
Yes we do. To ensure timely preparation and subsequent handover, we usually aim to arrive the day before and depart the day after, subject to flight schedule. However, we do not charge for travel time if the destination is within 8-hour flight radius. Please contact us at hello@picturepeopleplan.com with your project details for us to propose an itinerary.
Are you able to facilitate a graphic recording over Zoom or live video conferencing?
Yes, we can. For remote projects, we will schedule a connection and equipment test prior to the live session. We are able to join in via Zoom (preferred) or other video conferencing platforms, or explore the use of your existing video conferencing arrangements.
Can you work alongside another graphic recorder that I’ve hired from a different company?
Yes we can and have done so before. For such projects, we recommend the client designate a lead graphic recorder for coordinating project arrangements — we would be happy to either take up this role or take instructions from your designated lead. 🙂
